Error: Network Initialization Failed

Question: When starting Paradox, I receive the following error prompt. What causes this and how do I resolve it?Network initialization failed Directory: <Directory Path> File: <Directory Path>/PDOXUSRS.NET Cannot Access Network Lock File. Continue with network disabled? Answer: BDE cannot locate PDOXUSRS.NET, the network control file that monitors locking. This typically happens when you're using a laptop away from your main office environment or when you do not connect to the network before starting Paradox. To resolve this, either:
Tip: Laptop users who travel regularly should create two shortcuts in the Start menu. One should start Paradox normally while the other uses the -o command-line switch to specify an alternate BDE.CFG file that points NET FILE to a directory on the C: drive.
