Question: When I open a form (or report), Paradox displays an error: "Unable to Interpret File. It could be corrupt." What does it mean and how do I fix this?

Answer: This appears to be caused by a style sheet problem. Basically, Paradox cannot locate or understand the style sheet associated with a form or report. Causes include:

  • You are opening the file in a different version (or patch level) of Paradox than the last one used to save the file.

  • You are opening the file on a different computer than the one used to create or last save the file.

  • Paradox has been moved to a new location without properly updating the Registry.

  • The underlying style sheets have been deleted, moved, or have become corrupted.

  • Some other environmental factor is preventing Paradox from locating its style sheets.

To resolve the problem, change the style sheet to one available to the computer opening the file.

Note: In older versions of Paradox, this error sometimes appears as "Drive D: not ready."
