Question: I think I may need to update MDAC. Where can I find the latest version?

Currently, you can download MDAC from Microsoft's MSDN site. However, Microsoft periodically reorganizes their content. If the above link doesn't work, you should be able to locate the new location by using one of the following approaches:

  1. With your web browser, go to the MSDN home page (msdn.microsoft.com).

  2. Type MDAC into the Search for edit box and then click the Go button.

  3. When the search results appear, locate the Best Bets results. The first link usually points to the current location of the updates.

You can also find the latest updates by:
  1. Directing your web browser to the MSDN home page (msdn.microsoft.com).

  2. Choose the Products and Technologies link in the left margin. (As of this writing, it appears just below the search area.) This displays an index page similar to a site map.

  3. Locate and then choose the Data Access Technologies link. This takes you to the same page as the previous approach.

Keep in mind that the Data Access Technologies page only shows the most recent updates. Other tools, updates, and information is available from MSDN's Data Access Downloads page. The Data Access Technologies page contains a link to the full download page near the upper, right corner.
