News and Updates During the Year 2000
| ||||
Changes during 2000Here's what happened during 2000. We've archived it here to reduce the size of the News page and retained it in case any one is curious. 13 December 2000 - A few more Delphi articles have been added over the past couple of weeks. Also, we updated a rather serious problem with the Clipboard article. The code works now. :-) Finally, the search engine has been delayed; we've had to evaluate other options because the one we'd hoped to use did not work well with the content of the site. We're currently evaluating a couple of different alternatives. More soon. 14 November 2000 - We've added several Delphi and Paradox articles over the past few weeks. Updates have been a bit irregular as we're diligently working on some back end features, such as a Search engine and Article Indexes. More soon. 5 October 2000: Fixed a problem with articles disappearing from the Paradox listing. Also added a few more articles. Note that some are still being edited. 1 October 2000: Several updates will be made over the next several days. Three new Paradox articles today. Expect more Delphi and Paradox articles soon. Also, many of the Perl articles will be reworked and tightened. 8 September 2000: We've added several articles over the last few days. Updates continue. Again, please let us know about any typos or broken links. 5 September 2000: Paradox articles have been reorganized. Also, we are finishing a number of articles prior to our release announcement. Because of this, please be aware of the following:
4 September 2000: Updated the Site FAQ to clear up a couple of issues. Also, the Paradox Web Browser article has been rewritten. 22 August 2000: Many updates over the last couple of weeks. We've added the graphics; streamlined the templates, and added more topics, and editing many of the earlier ones. An Article Index will appear in the next day or so. 2 August 2000: Several updates over the last few days, including new articles and edits to older ones. 21 July 2000: Uploaded several Paradox articles today, including ~6 Quick Tips and 1 new Article. 20 July 2000: Lots of edits on various pages today. Sure wish spellcheckers dealt better with prose containing CODE. Also planning to upload several Paradox related articles over the next day or so. 19 July 2000: Updates have slowed a bit over the last couple of things due to workload. However, we're still adding content and updating previous material. For example, the Newsgroup Survival Guide has been updated to reflect feedback received over the last several days. Many thanks for all who responded. Feel free to recheck our work. 14 July 2000: Normal access appears to have been restored. We'll see how things develop throughout the day. 13 July 2000: Well, we thought we were back to normal. Something is interfering with our connection to the Internet. We think it's one of the machines that supports our connection to the backbone. It's not our server; it's one we connect to. We are investigating and will try to resolve this as quickly as possible. In the mean time, we're uploading new material and fixing "tpyos" as quickly as possible, though our FTP processes are running sporadically at best. Your continued patience is appreciated. Also, we've uploaded a couple more articles (one Paradox and one Assorted) and fixed several typos and broken links in others. More on the way 12 July 2000: Continued to upload "administrivia" pages. Also started posting Paradox related information. 11 July 2000: Some users reported having problems accessing our pages. After some investigations, we determined that the problems were being caused by one of the backbone sites, though we've not been able to obtain any details about the specific problems involved. We apologize for any inconvenience. 10 July 2000: Started publishing the pages we've been working on, including an "alpha" page of the current "look." |
